I recently returned to China for a two month trip through areas I had visited in 2000. I was primarily interested in re-visiting areas in Xinjiang Province to see how changes in this region are affecting it's traditional inhabitants. This area has long been home to Uighur, Kazak, Krygyz, Tajik and Mongol people. However, the Han Chinese population has and continues to increase dramatically.
